Erika Genrev Enriquez
We remember and honour the beauty – inside and out – of Erika Genrev Enriquez and the light she shone on everyone she touched.
Our Friend Erika
On December 1st, 2019, Erika was involved in a tragic car accident on the QEW in Niagara, Ontario. At the young age of 24, she was taken too soon from her loving family, and friends.
Erika's family describes her as a woman of God. She would attend Central Community Church every Sunday and made sure she prayed before every meal. Erika's favourite scripture from the Bible was Luke 1:37: "For with God, nothing shall be impossible." Through her unshakable faith, Erika lived life to the fullest.
In addition to her love of life, Erika had a deep compassion for God's creatures. Erika's mother regularly tells stories about how Erika would get upset when she would kill flies, quoting her yelling, "Don't mom! Flies have families too!" Erika leaves behind 5 beautiful dogs who understood the extent of her love.
Celebrating Erika
It was Erika's wish that she would have a big party for her 25th birthday involving all of her family and friends. Although she will not be with us in the flesh, we aim to fulfill her wish and invite all of you to her big party on Saturday February 8th, 2020 to celebrate the life of Erika.
Memories of Erika
-
While I was struggling to kill a fly in the house, Erika had yelled, "Stop mom! Don't! They have families too." This is how big her heart was. She was someone who literally wouldn't hurt a fly.
