Thanks for joining us for Erika's 25th birthday party! This was her last wish before she passed - to have a big gathering with her family and friends. Since she loved animals, we decided to create a fund raising event for the Lincoln Humane Society.
Erika was a very kind hearted person. During her birthday last year while in the Philippines, she celebrated by buying meals at Jollibee and gave them away to street children.
My wife had told me a story about when they were at the Antipolo Resort back home. She had noticed Erika crying and didn't know why. It turns out she had been crying because she had seen a lot of stray dogs walking around, malnourished without any food or water.
It broke her heart seeing them like that and I knew if it was possible, she would take them all home.
Her boyfriend Lester told us she tried saving a pig from being slaughtered at one of the markets in the Philippines. She would never hurt a fly, as in her words, they have families too.
This is why we wanted to grant her wish, to honour her by hosting a party and dontating all proceeds to a worthy cause to help animals.
